Florida Camping-What to Pack?
Although there are a considerable number of nude campgrounds in Florida in which there is too little to pack, it is always necessary to do some planning before going on the road, especially when it comes to traditional family camping.
Before heading off to Florida, make sure to take with you any prescribed medication. Some medical conditions may require the authorization of your doctor before getting exposed to an outdoor experience. People suffering from allergies or asthma might also require an inhaler, a ventilator, or even a peak flow meter.

Other than caring for your medical condition before camping, you can consider packing flip flops, sandals or other casual shoes, t-shirts, shorts, and other lightweight clothing. Florida is the Sunshine State, but that doesn't mean that you will find perpetual warm and sunny days.
Depending on the season of the year, you would also need to pack additional clothing to cope with tropical storms that modify the pleasant warm weather that Florida enjoys the majority of the year so carrying with you a rain-jacket and an umbrella might be necessary.
During winter, the temperature is also cooler than the rest of the year so keep this in mind when you pack your apparel, and don't forget socks and suitable footwear if needed.
Of course, you also need to pack food, including tea, coffee, cereals, rice, pasta, legumes, dried herbs, condiments, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar. Try to keep a well balanced diet and include a carefully chosen selection of canned foods, avoiding perishable items. Depending on your camping destination you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables on your way.
Pay close attention to the foods packaging. Lightweight recipients made of plastic or PVC and flimsy packages may break, split, or leak while driving. Carry your food in metal or glass containers, or try solid plastic storage recipients such as those from Tupperware, Rubbermaid, and similar brands.
Although, many campgrounds have their own cooking equipment, you may need to pack plastic cooking bowls for microwaving or oven dishes and utensils to be used on a traditional stove. If you are going to a tent campsite, you may also need a portable stove besides pans and pots. If you are going to camp where there is electric hook ups, take a toaster too, although a cast-iron pan serves also for this purpose even over a campfire.
Something that you must not forget is your credit card and any discount card you own. Some campsites offer Senior discounts while others have medical or other facility where you can take advantage of discount and membership cards.
However, as a preventative measure, get a second credit card issued by a different bank and keep this card in a separate location, in a safe place, and use it only in emergency case, such as if your main card is lost, stolen or completely ran out of funds.
In addition, camping does not usually require that you take with you any valuables so leave your jewels or costly watches at home or in the safe of your bank and enjoy a worry-free camping experience.
