Florida Wildlife

Florida has a variety of unique wildlife that you may not believe live in this beautiful state. When you hear a few of the various creatures you are sure to be familiar with some of them however, some people have a hard time believing that such animals such as the armadillo call Florida home.

Florida not only has a variety of animals roaming throughout the state but it is also home to several endangered and threatened animals as well.
The lists of animals that are considered threatened or endangered in the state of Florida include:

These are just a few of the wonderful wildlife that are endangered or threatened in the state of Florida you will find a wide variety of beautiful birds, amphibians, mammals, fish, and reptiles that are not endangered such as Armadillos, bears, beavers, bobcats, deer, feral pigs, foxes, manatees, minks, moles, opossums, otters, panthers, pocket gophers, rabbits, raccoons, seals, shrews, skunks, squirrels, weasels, alligators and crocodiles, anoles, geckos, lizards, skinks, and turtles.

Of course, there are some wildlife that is also protected in Florida such as the river otter, humpback whale, gray bat, Indiana bat, finback whale, toy deer, Florida Panther, Eastern chipmunk, Florida mouse, and the Sperm whale to name a few.
